SINFONIA TROPICAL

My roots are in Latin America, a continent where the native civilizations were mixed with the European and the African cultures.
My work shows a mixture of these three different worlds, led by the voices of tropical happiness, with its exuberance and chromatic outburst.
There is a predominance of tropical colours, full of light and life.
However, I grew into adulthood in Europe, where I deepened my knowledge and refined my artistic creations. That is why some people can see European influences in my work:
Miro, Picasso's cubism, Kandinsky, fused with pre- Columbian cultures of Latin America: Incas, Mayas, Aztecas.
My art also reflects my states of mind during the seven years I have in Europe: times of hope, helplessness, anger, happiness, nostalgy and admiration.
The collection that I present is a proposal that pretends to combine genres.
The image is immersed in abstract, and adjusted to its space, seeking harmony ; it doesn't, however, adopts its codes and meanings.

I am currently working on a new collection called "Mujeres". In this new collection" where the female protagonist emerges from the background, and the title is included in the painting, guiding the public throught to meanings and intentions of the work.
Some will see in this new collection a reflect of the women condition in a squalid underworld that treats them as a sexual object. But, through the dark backgrounds that contrast with the women images, the observer may also be flooded by a feeling of sensitivity,sensuality and a paradoxical combination of fragility and strength.
